Adria Airlines Slovenia

advert The Slovenian national airline Adria Airways has a wealth of experience spanning over 49 years in charter and scheduled air traffic. The Adria Airways story dates back to 1961, when it was founded as a charter company. In the eighties the airline started serving scheduled routes, and became a member of the IATA, the International Air Transport Association.

Today the majority of Adria Airways business is in scheduled flights; its network links Ljubljana with more than 20 cities throughout Europe and offers excellent connections to South East Europe. Adria Airways offers around 220 scheduled flights each week to Amsterdam, Brussels, Copenhagen, Frankfurt, Istanbul, Kiev, London, Moscow, Munich, Paris, Podgorica, Pristina, Sarajevo, Skopje, Stockholm, Tirana, Warsaw, Vienna and Zurich.

In the summer Adria Airways also operates flights to Athens, Barcelona, Dublin, Madrid, and Manchester. In March 2010 a scheduled flight to Belgrade was introduced. In August 2010 a scheduled flight to Banjaluka was introduced.

Adria Airways operates charter flights for the most part seasonally, and most frequently to destinations in the Mediterranean. Sharm el-Sheikh and Hurghada in Egypt are currently the only charter destinations served by Adria Airways all year round.
In November 2006 the e-ticket was launched. Two Canadair Regional Jet CRJ900 aircraft were ordered and joined the fleet in May 2007and June 2007.

In 2006 for the first time since 1991 over a million passengers were carried.
In November 2007 Adria Airways took a decision to acquire two Canadair Regional Jets CRJ900 NextGen and a Canadair Regional Jet CRJ1000 NextGen aircrafts.
Two Canadair Regional Jets CRJ900 NextGen joined the fleet in December 2008 and in January 2009.
Two Airbus A319 joined the fleet in April 2010 and in May 2010.
The company's head office is at Ljubljana Joze Pucnik Airport and has also representative offices in Ljubljana and at Ljubljana Joze Pucnik Airport, Brussels, Paris, Moscow, Frankfurt, Zagreb, Zurich and sales agents in almost all European countries.

Today Adria Airways operates the flights with 14 aircraft: two Airbus A320, two Airbus A319, four Canadair Regional Jet CRJ900, six Canadair Regional Jet CRJ200. This is one of the most modern fleets in Europe, and is both environment-friendly and economical.

As a long-term partner of major European airlines, particularly of Lufthansa, in December 2004 Adria Airways was accepted as a regional partner into the strongest strategic airline grouping, Star Alliance, which demonstrates that we are a reliable and high-quality carrier. In this way we have also clearly set out our business model as a network carrier offering global services. In January 2010 Adria Airways became a full member of Star Alliance.

Adria Airways received a European Union JAR 145 certificate and has also been providing maintenance and service work for other airlines at its hangars. Aircraft manufacturer Bombardier Aerospace Canada selected Adria Airways for its Heavy Maintenance Facility for Canadair Regional Jet aircraft because of its expertise and extensive experience. Since 2005 Adria Airways also performs maintenance work on the Airbus A320 family. Since 2002 Adria Airways performed maintenance work on approximately 620 foreign aircraft.

In August 2004 Adria Airways was one of the first airlines to receive IOSA (IATA Operational Safety Audit) Registration (www.iata.org/registry), which determines the level of organization of the company, its operating procedures and also the flight safety and security of the company.

Adria Airways embodies many features characteristic of Slovenia: hospitality, friendliness and high-quality services. Our goal is to remain a dependable and successful European regional carrier well into the future, during which we continue to grow and develop. Together with a professional, caring staff and a modern fleet, Adria Airways is committed to providing a high level of service and satisfaction, and to winning the loyalty of its passengers.
